Usually around these parts it can feel as though the battle is raging all around us. Everything from the physical, spiritual and emotional can really take its toll when really all that is being done is pointing out the truth. Often times as you take a stand against an approaching enemy on the front lines of battle it becomes one heck of a fight. Sometimes the fire that you get hit with is friendly fire.

With this site and ministry it is the aim to expose false teaching and to warn the body of Christ about those things which are infecting it. I am often reminded of this through all of the various emails that James tends to get.

Rick Warren’s “Battle of the Mind” Speech at the Desiring God 2010 THINK Conference (which Rick Warren did not attend but presented on videotape) resulted in a torrent of emails to me from Christians who were alarmed.  I also received a number of concerns about the response from John Piper and his panel at the conference after hearing Warren’s speech.  I had not planned on even listening to the speech because there had not yet been any formal or public repentance from Rick Warren for all of his false teachings in his Purpose Driven Life book or for the destruction he has wrought in churches all over the U.S. (a repentance speech is a speech that I would have made sure to hear).  But the indignation over the “Battle of the Mind” speech had grown so large, I felt compelled to view it and respond.  Before this I had appealed to and warned John Piper because he had invited Rick Warren to speak at his 2010 Desiring God Conference.  My appeal can be read at:

The “Church Growth Movement” which has become known as the Purpose Driven Church, is primarily the world outreach of Willow Creek Church in Chicago and Saddleback Church in California. The touted religious leader of this paradigm religious earthquake is Rick Warren of Saddleback.

According to South West Radio Ministry over 20 million copies of his book The Purpose Driven Life’ have been sold, and as reported, over 21,000 churches worldwide have gone through his “40 Days of Purpose” program. The actual number is probably over 50,000. This movement seems to be the most drastic change in Christendom since the 1550 Protestant Reformation.

But where is it going? Do we not have a right to “try the spirits” (I John 4:1-2)? Do we not have an obligation to God to “try the spirits”? The object of the PDC movement is in eight steps to change your church from a “traditional church” to a “Purpose Driven Church”. The author brings out the similarities of the PDC gospel to that of Dr. Charles Schuller and the New Age gurus.

James has written a number of documentaries exposing the Purpose Driven Church and Church Growth Movement teachings and practices; and the infiltration of Carl Jung and Psychology into the church in which he demonstrates these to be a clear and present danger to the church.
