In what may be the worst abuse of justice to date by the AOG, the leaders of the New York District of the Assemblies of God have accused and dismissed the Rev. Mark Gregori, of what amounts to “thought crimes” – even though independent polygraph tests cleared him of any guilt. Like a chilling piece of fiction, the New York District Presbytery interrogated and dismissed Rev. Mark Gregori on the grounds of – “you are guilty, when WE say you are guilty,” despite clear and compelling evidence that he is innocent.

Pastor Gregori, founder and Pastor of The Crossway Christian Center for 36 years in the Bronx, NY; was also the object of a malicious 3-page letter, written to all of his friends and fellow ministers by the District Superintendent detailing the baseless accusations, as well as the Presbyters unbiblical rationale for dismissal. Himself a longtime New York City Presbyter and a U.S. Assemblies of God Urban Missionary, he has been the victim of intolerable malice, exploitation, betrayal, slander, and “cruel and inhuman punishment,” at the hands of the New York Presbytery, though, once again, forensic science has confirmed his complete innocence. There seems to be no end in sight of the outrageous abuse of authority and power that continues in the AOG.

The “Church Growth Movement” which has become known as the Purpose Driven Church, is primarily the world outreach of Willow Creek Church in Chicago and Saddleback Church in California. The touted religious leader of this paradigm religious earthquake is Rick Warren of Saddleback.

According to South West Radio Ministry over 20 million copies of his book The Purpose Driven Life’ have been sold, and as reported, over 21,000 churches worldwide have gone through his “40 Days of Purpose” program. The actual number is probably over 50,000. This movement seems to be the most drastic change in Christendom since the 1550 Protestant Reformation.

But where is it going? Do we not have a right to “try the spirits” (I John 4:1-2)? Do we not have an obligation to God to “try the spirits”? The object of the PDC movement is in eight steps to change your church from a “traditional church” to a “Purpose Driven Church”. The author brings out the similarities of the PDC gospel to that of Dr. Charles Schuller and the New Age gurus.

James has written a number of documentaries exposing the Purpose Driven Church and Church Growth Movement teachings and practices; and the infiltration of Carl Jung and Psychology into the church in which he demonstrates these to be a clear and present danger to the church.
